VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • STUDENTS interested in volunteering in the community are asked to check out the Work Experience Board across from Mr. Wedel's office. New opportunities are now posted. Volunteer hours can be counted towards WEX hours or go towards Bursary applications. 
  • CHILLIWACK COMMUNITY SERVICES CHRISTMAS TOY HAMPERS need volunteers. See the Work Experience Board for details. 
  • "Frightmare Before Christmas" needs student volunteers. Pick up an application today and select your preferred dates from the calendar. Submit it to the school office and a Work Experience Facilitator will come to you to get you all signed up. There is a limited time and space, so pick up your application today. 
  • Students who have picked up applications from the Work Experience Board need to return them to the school office. 

SCHOLARSHIPS

  • There is a NEW STANDARD SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM that will be easier to use than the old one. 
  • Sign up at the Career Centre for the December 18th External Scholarship meeting at lunch in B208. Specific information will be given plus there will be a Q&A. Assistance and support for the process is available. Meetings will each be the same, so go to the ones that suit your schedule. Go to at least one internal and one external meeting before booking individual appointments. 
  • SCHOLARSHIP UPDATE MEETING is on December 20 at lunch in the McAstocker Theatre. New information on BC Government Scholarships. EVERYONE applying for awards should come.
  • TERRY FOX HUMANITARIAN AWARD is given to a student who demonstrates compassion and courage in the face of adversity. Information on how to apply is posted on the Career Centre Door.
